The Chicago Cubs held a lengthy players-only meeting Wednesday, one day after a mistake-filled loss to the Florida Marlins that manager Lou Piniella said “might be our worst game of the year.” Piniella and team executives held a long meeting of their own before Wednesday night’s game against Florida.

Byung-Hyun Kim pitched six scoreless innings, Reggie Abercrombie homered and the Florida Marlins held on to beat the Chicago Cubs 5-3 on Monday. Josh Willingham had two hits and an RBI and Miguel Cabrera had three hits for the Marlins, who bounced back after getting swept by the New York Mets over the weekend.
