    Daryle Ward singled home the winning run in the 10th inning after Ryan Theriot tied it with a single in the ninth, and the surging Chicago Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 4-3 on Sunday for their fifth straight victory. Theriot’s big hit came off struggling Washington closer Chad Cordero, who has four blown saves in eight chances.
